Infos zum Projekt

Unter dem Titel sounds and voices – dort und hier setzen wir unseren internationalen Austausch von Künstler*innen aus der Türkei mit Künstler*Innen aus Deutschland fort.

 

Künstler, Filmregisseure, Musiker und Kulturschaffende zeigen sich in unserem Projekt sounds and voices mit ihren Lebenswirklichkeiten in der Kunst und im Kulturgeschäft, in den Großstädten und in Städten wie Krefeld, in der Türkei und in Deutschland: mit Filmen, Installationen, Gesprächsrunden und Konzerten.

Was bedeutet „Dort und Hier“ für dich im Zusammenhang mit Deutschland und der Türkei? Was verkörpert für dich das „Dort“ und was das „Hier“? Über deine Interpretation mit sound und voice, also mit Klängen, Geräuschen, Tönen und Stimmen freuen wir uns!

Dünya metropolü İstanbul’un ve Almanyanın sanatçıları arasındaki uluslararası ilişkilerini devam ettirmekteyiz.

Sanatçılar, film yönetmenleri, müzisyenler ve kültüre katkısı olan herkes metropollerde ve almanyanın Krefeld şehrinde sanat içeren tüm hayat gerçekleriyle ve kültürel etkinlikleriyle filim, instelasyon, çeşitli konuşmalar ve konser aracılığıyla uğraşmaktalar.

„Orada ve burada“ ifadesi sana Almanya ve Türkiye ile ilgili ne çağrıştırıyor? „Orada“ ve „Burada“ kelimelerini nasıl somutlaştırırsın?

Mehmet Korkmaz - Sounds of "Victory"

This field recording took place at Hagia Sophia, a Byzantine Church that was built in 537, then converted by the Ottomans into a mosque after the fall of Constantinople in 1453.
Having established as a museum in 1935, Hagia Sophia was re-opened as a mosque in 2020. The recent conversion of this holy shrine bears strong political messages with a sense of “victory “over the early revolutions of Turkey as well as its current relations with the West.
Not only Hagia Sophia itself was changed, but also the soundscape with it. This work reflects on the changing soundscape of Hagia Sophia through the sounds of ongoing renovations, people’s cheers, chats and laughter, police warnings, notices and the call for prayer.

Blurred. Fluid. A constant here and there, one outweighing the
other. No longer clearly defined contours.

Özgün Tuncer - Metropolitan Syndrome

This is a piece about extraordinary disorder of a person who lives in İstanbul. This character, who has to experience this syndrome every day, when he/she closes his/her eyes to sleep at night, he/she hears the summary of all the moments he/she experienced during the day by rewinding. This piece you will hear is what the character lives in the night of the day when he/she crosses from the European side to the Anatolian side and goes to a pub.

Dogancan Vural - Adayinalpolis

 

It is not quite possible to see or visually perceive the massiveness of İstanbul from a fixed point within the city. However, it is possible to do so aurally if you’re at a high point around Bosphorus and close to the center. Because, there you can pick the calmest hour in the dusk and enjoy the whole vibrance of the city, while it slowly awakes as people do and starts its engine until it falls tired and goes to sleep to repeat it again. It is literally possible to observe the city as a living organism through sound; as it wakes up, works, gets tired, goes to bed, and repeats. In this recording, you are going to listen to a time lapse of a casual day in central İstanbul employing four stages of a day (dusk, noon, evening, late night) in various lengths.
